November 28, 2012, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell Philippines launched the World hunger 2012 campaign with United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
Pizza Hut and Taco Bell Philippines takes part in school feeding program for children that has been affected by past conflicts in Mindanao. According to :ars Peterson, this campaign is the world’s largest private sector fundraising effort to help alleviate hunger and under-nutrition globally. There will be three ways to take part and contribute in this project. The first one is by purchasing any of the three different limited edition Christmas postcards signed by the World Hunger Relief 2012 Volunteer, Ms. Universe third runner-up and Ms. Universe-Philippines 2011 Ms. Shamcey Supsup.

The second way is by donating through the World Hunger Relief 2012 coinbanks found at all Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants and satellite locations nationwide. Also, 10 Philippine pesos from every special Taco Bell WFP Combo Meal will be donated to World Food Programme’s school feeding program. Lastly, customers may opt to contribute by adding 5, 10, or 20 pesos to their bill.
Pizza Hut and Taco Bell Philippines has been doing this since 2007. Over 63 million has been raised to help feed school children in Mindanao and those by Sendong last year.
The Programme
The media launch started with the opening remarks and introduction of guests followed by a video presentation of YUM!Asia Franchise Business Units’ Field Visit to Mindanao, then MR. Raymund Nobleza, Office-in-Charge Pizza Hut Marketing gave a message on the World Hunger Relief campaign.

Mr. Stephen Anderson, Representative and Country Director of United Nations World Food Programme Philippines gave his thank you message.

Lastly was Ms. Shamcey Supsup. She shared as to how close Mindanao is to her heart, how hard it was to live there.

Indeed, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell Philippines Media Launch was a success.
