Justice For Andrei Marcos: A Hazing Victim

Last Monday night, a shocking and tragic news came to us. Marc Andrei Marcos, a San Beda law student, died of hazing. For me, it is so tragic because I know Andrei personally. And I want justice for him. Drei is my college blockmate in the University of Santo Tomas when we took Legal Management.

It is common for people to say that a person is good when one is already dead, but for Andrei, he is really a good person. I am not talking about good things about him because he is dead but I am saying these things because these are true. He is thoughtful, maybe not financially but in advices, and the things we learn at the university, he shares his knowledge and assignment. 😉 He is also friendly, he doesn’t have enemies at school, he is the quiet tyoe of guy but when you talk to him he’ll gladly talk to you. He is a really good person. He is not the type of guy who will join fraternities but because of his ambition to be a lawyer and probably the fraternities’ brain washing him and convinced him to join. And we never thought this will be the cause of his death. It was all so sudden. It is hard to believe because we all know that he is not the type of guy who will join frateenities. He is a smart guy, the type who could have been a top notcher to the bar exam. It is such a waste to lose a person like him. And so we want justice. Not because he is my classmate but his death needs justice. We want justice for Marc Andrei Marcos!!

No to hazing! If we won’t do anything about this, when do you want this to stop? When one of your relatives, friends or classmates becomes a victim of this unjustifiable act? I condemn the act of hazing. I have nothing against fraternities and brotherhood but brothers and sisters don’t hurt you just to recognize you as a member of the family. Hazing is stupid! Let’s all take action to stop hazing!
